Geomatics Building Surveyor

The Geomatics (Reality Capture) in the Building Surveying function are looking for a surveyor to join a growing team based in our London. Core services within Geomatics are topographical, measured building and engineering surveys and operate Geomatics operations from our London and Leeds offices.
What will you be doing?
This role will consist of deploying the latest technology to give our clients a professional service. We approach each project with an open mind to find the best fit solutions for the task in hand. The team work in many different environments and use innovative methods to produce the best, most time/cost effective solutions. We are looking for a candidate to use our existing Laser Scanning technology and push forward for future development.
Your other responsibilities include:
• Positively engaging with customers and develop, grow, and maintain relationships
• Delivering high quality services and ensuring that deliverables meet customer’s requirements
• Preparing and managing planned maintenance programmes
• Planning service delivery in conjunction with the Director with overall responsibility for the project
• Communicating with and providing good sound professional advice to both clients and other team members
• Ensuring that all quantitative and financial information has been checked before issue and maintaining evidence of these checks.
• Producing and presenting to customers
• Managing services delivery for profit
• Advising directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise.
• Identifying new business development opportunities and driving growth across the Business Unit activities
What do you need to be successful?
You will need to have sound Building Surveying experience and it would be brilliant if you have knowledge of Geomatic Surveying as well.
It would be great if you also had:
• Sound knowledge of construction methods and materials
• Good knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tenders and contract strategies
• Ability to administer construction contracts as Contracts Administrator and Employers Agent
• Clear knowledge of legislation impacting on building contracts
Other soft skills required are, effective communication skills – both oral and written and good organisational skills and adaptability to changes. Also, excellent problem solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skills. Ideally, you will have to have sound ICT Skills, with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft applications.
Finally, it is essential that you are chartered by one of the following institutions:
• MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors),
• MCIOB (Member of the Chartered Institute of Builders)
